6 Really Smart Loading Tricks for Your Next Move

Moving is a pain in the butt. Whether you're going full DIY (packing yourself up, renting the van, and loading and dumping yourself) or hiring individuals to do the (literal) heavy lifting, a lots of work enters into it. Particularly when it concerns kitchenware: A great deal of the things in there is bitty, spill-y, poke-y, strangely shaped, and usually tough to move. 1. Put knives in oven mitts.

A trip to the emergency clinic will certainly double your unpacking time! So here tuck your knives into oven mitts before you throw them into a box (tie it off with twine or apron strings so they do not move out. That extra padding will keep everybody safe.



2. Seal your covers.



That's great for spraying spices onto food, but less excellent when moving (unless you desire a box full of salt). What to do: Get rid of the cover, cover the opening with a bit of plastic wrap, and screw the lid back on.



3. Wrap up your drawers.



If you keep your kitchenware in stand-alone systems like a rolling cart, buffet, or sideboard, you likely have nicely arranged drawers that would be a discomfort to unpack and repack on either end. Save yourself the problem: Pull out the drawer, cover it in plastic wrap, and move it still filled. Depending on how heavy the furnishings is, you most likely would have wanted to take the drawers out to move it anyhow, so this can conserve you hours of packing and unpacking.
